Coffee Futures Market News and Commentary

Coffee Prices Fall on Brazil Harvest Pressures and Stronger Vietnam Exports

July arabica coffee (KCN25) Friday closed down -1.70 (-0.47%), and July ICE robusta coffee (RMN25) closed down -153 (-3.33%).

Coffee prices on Friday gave up an early advance and turned lower on harvest pressures in Brazil and stronger coffee exports from Vietnam.  Arabica coffee fell from a 2-week high on Friday and turned lower on harvest pressures in Brazil after Safras & Mercado reported that Brazil’s 2025/26 coffee harvest was 28% complete as of June 4, just above the five-year average of 27% for the same time of year.

Robusta coffee fell from a 1-week high Friday and moved sharply lower on signs of larger coffee exports from Vietnam.  On Thursday, the National Statistics Office of Vietnam reported that Vietnam’s May coffee exports surged +59% y/y to 148,000 MT.  On a cumulative basis, Vietnam’s Jan-May coffee exports are down -1.8% y/y to 813,000 MT.
